Laar was originally part of The Shetland Trader-Book One, a collection of 10 patterns inspired by the Shetland Islands.

This garment is worked bottom up in once piece dividing at the armholes to work back and fronts separately. After the shoulders are joined stitches are picked up from the armhole and the sleeve cap is shaped using short rows.

Sizing

28.5 (30, 33.25, 36.5, 39.75, 43, 46)” / 72.5 (76, 84.5, 92.5, 101, 109, 117) cm. Shown in 28.5 with 3 inches negative ease.

Materials

Yarn:
1110 (1150, 1300, 1450, 1550, 1700, 1860) yards lace-weight yarn.
Suggested yarn: Jaggerspun Zephyr Wool-Silk 2/18 (630 yrds/57g; 50% tussah silk/50% merino wool) shown in “Curry”.

Needles:
US 3/3.25mm 24 or 32 inch circular
US 4/3.5mm 32 inch circular
US 4/3.5mm 24 inch circular
US 4/3.5mm 16 inch circular or set of dpns
US 6/4mm 32 inch circular

Notions:

Gauge

26 sts and 34 rows= 4 inches on US 6/4mm in Stockinette St. 30 sts and 34 rows= 4 inches on US 4/3.5mm in Lace pattern. 33 sts and 37 rows= 4 inches on US 4/3.5mm in Stockinette St. Adjust needles size as necessary to obtain correct gauge.
