Knit your Vaddel Sweater + Cardigan with authentic Shetland wool—the genuine article!

I have created kits in 4 colorways using Jamieson's of Shetland Spindrift yarn:

Port Wine Colorway-This is the original shades of the sweater version shown in the images here. Shades include Port Wine (MC), Old Gold (CC1), Poppy (CC2) and Sandalwood (CC3).

Ivory Colorway
Shades include Ivory (MC), Scotch Broom (CC1), Thyme (CC2) and Salmon (CC3).

Moorit Colorway
Shades include Moorit (MC), Burnt Ochre (CC1), Paprika (CC2) and Fog (CC3).

Navy Colorway
Shades include Admiral Navy (MC), Eucalyptus(CC1), Eesit/White (CC2) and Sky (CC3).

Here is the breakdown of number of balls in each kit:

  • You will get a complimentary copy of the pattern with the kit and it will come to you as a digital download after your purchase. The pattern includes 2 pdfs-one for the sweater and one for the cardigan version.
  • Kits are divided into separate sizes as different numbers of balls are needed for each. 
  • The MC yardage for the cardigan is slightly more than the sweater. All kits are made up to cover the yardage for the cardigan (and therefore the sweater).

US 6 / 4 mm circular needle, 16" / 40 cm, 32" / 80 cm and 40" / 100 cm lengths (you will need longer cables as the yoke increases in size).
US 6 / 4 mm dpns (or long circular for working small circumference in the rnd).
US 5 / 3.75 mm circular needle, 24” / 60 cm, 32” / 80 cm and 40” / 100 cm lengths (for hem, cuff, buttonbands and neckband).
US 5 / 3.75 mm dpns (or long circular for working small circumference in the rnd).

Notions
stitch markers (8 total), waste yarn or stitch holders, tapestry needle, 5 (5, 5, 5, 5) [5, 6, 6, 6, 7] buttons ¾” / 2 cm (cardigan version only).
Gauge

24 sts and 37 rows = 4” / 10 cm over Slip Stitch and Stockinette Stitch combined worked flat and in the round using US 6 / 4mm needle after blocking
24 sts and 32 rows = 4” / 10 cm in Garter Rib worked flat using US 5 / 3.75 mm needle after blocking.
20 sts and 40 rows = 4” / 10 cm in Garter Stitch worked flat using US 5 / 3.75 mm needle after blocking.
