This is a pre order. Your kit will ship the week of October 26th.

This kit is for the yarn only (and includes the silk mohair held with the Shetland yarn).

The Little Wave Vest Kit is knit with Gudrun's custom color of Jamieson's of Shetland Spindrift "Hairst" and held with Les Garcons Silk Mohair in Aleks' Red Squirrel Friend,

Here is the breakdown of yarn in each size:

6 (6, 7, 9) (9, 10, 13, 14) balls of Hairst
2 (2, 2, 3) (3, 3, 4, 4) skeins of Silk Mohair

Please note that the pattern is NOT part of this kit. The pattern is only in my new book "Shetland Shades: Stories in Wool"

Chest Circumference (including buttonband): 30 ½ (35, 39 ½, 44 ¼) (48 ¾, 53 ½, 58, 62 ½)“ / 77.5 (89, 100.5, 112.5) (124, 136, 147.5, 159) cm.

Recommended to be worn with 1–3” / 2.5–7.5 cm of positive ease.
Shown in size 3 with 1 ½“ / 4 cm of positive ease at chest.

Materials

Fingering-weight and lace-weight yarns are held together throughout the pattern.

Yarn 1: Fingering-weight yarn in the following amount:
590 (690, 775, 940) (1035, 1250, 1500, 1590) yds / 540 (631, 709, 860) (946, 1143, 1372, 1454) m.

Yarn 2: Lace-weight yarn in the following amount:
590 (690, 775, 940) (1035, 1250, 1500,1590) yds / 540 (631, 709, 860) (946, 1143, 1372, 1454) m.

Gudrun’s Little Wave (Red version): Jamieson’s of Shetland Spindrift (100% Shetland Wool; 115 yds / 105 m per 25 g ball) in shade Hairst and Les Garçons Mohair Silk (72% Kid Mohair / 28% Silk; 460 yds / 421 m per 50g ball) in shade Aleks’s Red Squirrel Friend.

Needles

US 8 / 5 mm circular needle, 16” / 40 cm and 40” / 100 cm length (main needle).
US 7 / 4.5 mm circular needle, 16” / 40 cm length (for I-Cord bind off).

Always use a needle size that will result in the correct gauge after blocking.

Notions

4 removable stitch markers (to show buttonhole placement) and 4 standard stitch markers for pattern placement, waste yarn, tapestry needle, four 1 ⅛“ / 3 cm buttons.

Gauge

21 sts & 30 rows = 4” / 10 cm over Little Wave Pattern worked flat using main needle, after blocking.
17 sts & 30 rows = 4” / 10 cm over Garter Stitch worked flat using main needle, after blocking.
17 sts & 30 rows = 4” / 10 cm over Stockinette St worked flat using main needle, after blocking.
